District Governor Elect (2010-11) :

Rtn Prof. Dr. Narayan Mishra is a Chest Physician of National and International repute. He is born on 1st February 1951. to Smt Bimla and Sri. Krushna Chandra Mishra, a nationally acclaimed agricultural scientist. Dr. Mishra had his schooling and College education at Bhubaneswar. He did his MBBS from MKCG Medical College Berhampur, Residency at New Delhi, and Post Graduation in Chest Diseases from VSS Medical College, Burla. Since 1977 onwards Dr. Mishra has been serving in the Department of Chest diseases in all the three Medical Colleges of Orissa and has a devoted and dedicated professional career. Presently he is posted to VSS Medical College as the Prof and Head of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine.

Dr. Mishra made his maiden entry into Rotary Family in the year 1970 as the first and Chartered Rotaractor and became the Vice President of Rotaract Club, Berhampur. Being the Centennial President of Rotary Club of Berhampur Central, he received the Best Club Award of RI Dist. 3260, received "Four Avenues of Service Award" from Rotary International, got special recognition from DG for support to the Rotary foundation in 2006-07 and highest membership growth in the District in 2004-05 and was awarded for the best project for AIDS awareness in 2004-05. He was chosen as a faculty of Rotary Leadership Institute of RI Dist. 3260 and received best participant award in RLI graduation course. He has organized ICID Meet on Health as its Chairman in 2007. He became the ADT, RI Dist.3260 for 2005-06, Chairman Health and Hygiene awareness camp Orissa for 2005-06, Zonal Chairman TRF for 2006-07 and Asst District Governor 2007-08. He has attended two RI Conventions at Brisbane in 2003 and Chicago in 2005. The list is too long and the mentioned few are only the indicators of the involvement in and belongingness of Dr. Mishra in the total gamut of Rotary activities.

Being the right son of the soil his professional excellency as well as outstanding contribution to the society is remarkable. He has two international awards and many national awards to his credit for his devoted research work. Recently he received the Best research award in the field of Asthma in India and presented his work in several International forums. He has achieved Best Citizen of India Award and Bharat Gourav award in 2002. He is an advisor of Green Movement at Berhampur. He was deputed to work at Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a Consultant Chest Physician for a period of seven years. He was elected as the chairman of east zone of Indian Chest Society for 2006-07. He is the Council member of Indian College of Asthma,

Allergy and Applied Immunology. He is a life member of Indian Chest Society, Indian Society for the study of Lung Cancer, Indian society of Critical Care Medicine, Indian Association of Tuberculosis, Indian Medical Association, Indian Association of Bronchology and National college of Chest Physician. He is also life member of Gopabandhu Seva Parisada, Dibya Jiban Sangha, Mahan Sangha and International Society for Krishna Consciousness. He has published many original research works in National and International journals. Rtn Dr. Mishra has widely traveled globally inside and outside India in connection with his academic, cultural and social objectives.

His wife Rtn Smt. Asha Mishra, MA, M,Ed, PHF: is also a dedicated, enthusiastic and vibrant member of the Rotary family who has an unstinted source of inspiration for others and a perennial support to Rtn. Dr. Mishra. She is the only and first lady Rotarian of Dist.3260 to graduate from Rotary Leadership Institute. Daughter Dr. Nutan (Dental Surgeon), son in law Dr. Monoj (Neuro Surgeon) and Son Ayan (Engineer) Continuing MBA at IBS Hyderabad make a happy family.

To sum up Rtn Prof. Dr. N Mishra is a leader par excellence, has a strong sense of commitment to the noble cause of Rotary whose motto of life is "Service to humanity through professional service, Research activities and Rotary movement".
Rtn Shashi Varvandkar was born in an agricultural family. He did his schooling at Katni in Madhya Pradesh. Later, he post-graduated in English and went on to acquire a Diploma in Business Management.
Rtn. Umakant Sharma was born on 14th July 1952 at Gopalpur, District Shahdol (M.P.) in a renowned family. His father Shri Suresh Chandra Sharma is also an advocate practicing for more than 50 years in District Court at Shahdol.
