District Governor nominee (2011-12):
Rtn. Umakant Sharma was born on 14th July 1952 at Gopalpur, District Shahdol (M.P.) in a renowned family. His father Shri Suresh Chandra Sharma is also an advocate practicing for more than 50 years in District Court at Shahdol. He was educated in Shahdol. He passed B.Sc. M.A. (Political Science ), LL. B. and started Legal Practice in 1975 under the able guidance and kind supervision of his father at Shahdol. During his student life he was the President of Law College Students' Union. He also served as Honorary Lecturer in Law college. He was elected as member of Municipal Council of Shahdol (MP) for year 1979-1983 and was chairman of Finance Committee.

Rtn. Umakant shifted to Jabalpur in the year 1985 to practice in M.P. High Court. He was appointed Government Advocate in MP High Court, Jabalpur from 1985 to 1990. He was Secretary of MP High Court Bar Association in the year 1995-1996 and became its youngest President in the year 2000-2001. He is Standing Counsel for many recognized Organisations & Institutions.

He was designated Senior Advocate by MP High Court in the year 2003. It is the highest honour in Legal Profession. The MP High Court Bar Association celebrated its Golden Jubilee (1956-2006) on 10th December 2005 in Jabalpur and Honoured Legal Luminaries . Advocate Umakant Sharma was one of them. He has completed 34 year of legal practice from 1975-2009. He is Life Member of many Social and Cultural Organisations like Red Cross Society, Hamara Jabalpur, Sangeet Samaj, Central India Law Institute Jabalpur, Masonic Lodge etc.

Rtn. Umakant Sharma joined Rotary Movement in the year 1981 and became Charter Member of Rotary Club of Shahdol R.I.D. 3260. He served as Joint Secretary, Secretary (Thrice) and Vice President in that Club. In 1985 he shifted to Jabalpur and joined Rotary Club of Jabalpur West. He served the club as Joint Secretary, Secretary and became President in the year 1993-94. He held many prestigious posts like GGR, GZR, Assistant Governor, District Treasurer, Member of District Governor Nomination committee, Co- Chairman Election and Balloting Committee, Member GSE Team Selection Committee, Assistant District Trainer, GSR, Additional District Secretary and District Secretary etc.

He achieved many awards like Outstanding GGR (1994-95 ) Outstanding District Officer(1995-96) and Best GSE Team Co- ordinator in Rotary Year 1999-2000. He is also recipient of Star District Award as District Officer. He has always been a 'Rotarian par Excellence' with true Rotary spirit, always extending selfless service for the cause of humanity. He is happily married to Dr. Smt. Krishna Sharma who is Professor in M.K.B. Government Arts and Commerce Girls College in Jabalpur and was President of Inner wheel Club of Jabalpur Midtown in the year 2000-2001. Sharma family has an outstanding record of Social Service. The couple is blessed with two childrens son Suyash, Advocate practicing in MP High Court, Jabalpur along with his father and daughter Shubhrata who is an Electronic Engineer working presently in Mumbai. Rtn Shashi Varvandkar was born in an agricultural family. He did his schooling at Katni in Madhya Pradesh. Later, he post-graduated in English and went on to acquire a Diploma in Business Management.
Rtn Prof. Dr. Narayan Mishra is a Chest Physician of National and International repute. He is born on 1st February 1951. to Smt Bimla and Sri. Krushna Chandra Mishra, a nationally acclaimed agricultural scientist.
